Screw cappers tighten threaded caps onto bottles using spindle wheels or chuck heads. Spindle cappers guide bottles between rotating discs that spin the cap tight — best for inline systems at 20–200 bottles/min. Roll-On Pilfer-Proof (ROPP) cappers form aluminum caps directly onto the bottle neck by rolling and threading — creating a tamper-evident seal. Common on wine bottles, spirits, olive oil, and pharmaceuticals. The cap arrives as a pre-cut shell; the machine threads it onto the bottle and crimps the pilfer band. Requires precise bottle-neck tolerance.
Snap cappers press snap-on caps (flip-top, disc-top, cricket) onto bottles using a controlled downward force. No threading — the cap snaps over a bead or lip on the bottle neck. Used for detergent bottles, personal care products, and food condiments. Press force is adjustable to avoid container cracking or incomplete seating.
Specialized cappers for trigger sprayer assemblies (spray head + dip tube) onto bottles. The machine picks the sprayer, inserts the dip tube into the bottle neck, and presses/twists to lock. Common for household cleaners, garden chemicals, and personal care. Dual-station models handle left and right trigger orientations.
Spindle cappers use three or more pairs of counter-rotating discs to spin caps tight as bottles pass through on a conveyor. Continuous operation, high speed (up to 200+ bottles/min), and gentle torque control. Best for high-volume production of threaded caps (screw caps). Cap sorting and feeding is typically automatic via a vibratory bowl or elevator.
Chuck cappers lower a programmable torque-controlled chuck onto each cap individually. Precise torque control (±2%), programmable for different cap types, and suitable for fragile containers. Single-head bench-top models handle 5–30 bottles/min; multi-head rotary systems reach 200+ bottles/min. Ideal for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications where torque accuracy matters.
