Liquid filling machines handle free-flowing liquids (water, juice, milk, oil) and viscous products (sauce, shampoo, honey). Filling principles include gravity, overflow, piston, pump, and timed-flow. Choose gravity for thin liquids, piston or pump for thick products, and overflow when fill level consistency matters more than volume accuracy.
Bottle filling machines are configured around the container — glass bottles, PET bottles, jars, or cans. Inline (linear) models handle 10–60 bottles/min for small batches; rotary monoblock rinsers fillers cappers reach 200–2,000+ bottles/min for beverage lines. Adjustable nozzle pitch and conveyor width accommodate multiple bottle formats on the same machine.
Food filling requires food-grade stainless steel (304/316) contact parts, quick-release nozzles for cleaning, and often CIP (clean-in-place) capability. Applications include sauce, jam, paste, cream, honey, cooking oil, and dairy. Piston fillers are the workhorse for chunky or thick products; auger fillers handle powders like flour and milk powder.
Piston fillers use a reciprocating piston to draw a precise volume of product and discharge it into the container. Best for viscous products (100–500,000 cP): creams, pastes, gels, sauces with particulates. Accuracy: ±0.5–1% of fill volume. Available in single-nozzle bench-top to multi-nozzle inline configurations.
Volumetric fillers dispense a fixed volume per cycle using a measuring chamber, rotary valve, or gear pump. Ideal for thin, consistent liquids where speed matters: water, spirits, chemicals, pharmaceutical syrups. Higher throughput than piston fillers but less suitable for products with particles or variable viscosity.
Auger fillers use a rotating screw (auger) to meter powder or granular products — flour, milk powder, protein powder, spices, coffee grounds, chemicals. An agitator above the auger keeps powder flowing. Fill weights from 1g to 5kg. For free-flowing powders pair with a vacuum or net-weigh system for higher accuracy.
Gravity fillers rely on product weight to flow from an elevated tank through nozzles into containers. Simple, low-cost, and fast for thin free-flowing liquids (water, solvents, juices). Fill level is controlled by time or level-detection. Best suited for products with consistent viscosity and no particles.
Overflow fillers fill until liquid reaches a return tube level, ensuring every bottle has an identical fill height regardless of minor volume variations. Critical for transparent bottles where shelf appearance matters: bottled water, wine, perfume, cleaning products. Trade-off: slightly less accurate on volume but perfect on visual level.
Standard lead times run 15–30 days for stock models and 30–60 days for custom builds. Sea freight takes 15–35 days depending on destination; most factories ship FOB Chinese ports and work with your freight forwarder.
